Description
Southern Fish Meal (Hoor)
Southern Fish Meal (Hoover) is made from the by-products of various fish from canning factories in southern Iran. These fish are caught from the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. After being transported to tuna processing factories, the by-products are first pressed to remove water, then cooked, dried, and ground into powder for use in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture feed.
Hoover fish is fat-free and contains all essential amino acids. Its protein content is very high, around 65%, making it an excellent source of protein.
It is also rich in B vitamins, vitamin D, and minerals such as zinc, iodine, potassium, sodium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, as well as omega-3 fatty acids.
The inclusion of fish meal in animal, poultry, and aquaculture feed has a significant impact on overall nutrition. Fish bones and by-products provide essential macro- and micronutrients needed by animals.
Feeding fish meal to cows, thanks to its fat and omega-3 content, can also help increase milk production.
